Websites, kept current.
Most small-business sites get built, launched, and then left alone. A few years on, the plugins are out of date, whoever built it has moved on, and nobody's sure whose account the domain sits in. That's the part we take over.
What we usually find.
- Plugins years out of date, some a major version or two behind.
- The domain registered to the old web designer, or to an email address nobody can get into. It renews once a year, until the year it doesn't.
- No one can say when the last backup ran, or whether it would actually restore.
- A Google listing with last year's hours.
It starts with an audit.
Before anything gets changed, every plugin, theme and account is written down: what it does, whether it's current, whether you still need it. You get that in plain English.
Then the safe updates go onto a staging copy, a private duplicate of your site, and only move to the live one once they've been checked there. Anything bigger than an update gets quoted separately, from what we found, before it starts.
Then it's looked after.
- Updates applied every month, the big ones on the staging copy first
- Backups checked to make sure they run and restore. We don't keep a copy of your site or your customers' data ourselves
- Domain and hosting renewals watched, and who holds them written down
- Small changes when you send them
- A short note each month saying what got done
No price list.
Every site's different, so you get a written quote after a first look. Mostly WordPress and Squarespace, on the platform you already have, so you keep the editor you know.
What it doesn't cover. Design direction and holding your backups. If you need either, we'll say so up front and point you to someone who does it properly.
We're people people.
Bring us your issues, big, small or somewhere in between. We love a challenge.
